If you wish for your second grader to receive these sacraments this spring, the formation process begins now. This is an exciting time for your family and, as parents, you are their first and most important teachers and should be actively involved in preparing them for the Sacraments. Our parish provides you and your child with opportunities for active learning. Holy Cross Parish will provide two general sessions and learning centers this year.
General Sessions are new this year! Father David will share cutting-edge and inspirational stories that will help you, as parents, prepare your child for these two incredible sacraments. Parent(s) and child should be present at this event. Other children are welcome to attend, but childcare will not be provided.
Learning Centers give you a chance to spend one-on-one time with your child reviewing various aspects of the Sacrament of Reconciliation and Holy Communion. These centers are required to receive the sacraments. At least one parent needs to be present, ideally, both parents should be present. Childcare for others will not be provided, so please plan accordingly.
Upcoming Dates:
Please find attached a registration form. It provides us with vitally important information, especially your up-to-date contact information. Fill this out and mail it back to the parish office in the provided envelope or drop it in the offertory basket by Sunday, November 27th. We will send most of the reminders and messages through our e-mail and text system. If your contact information changes, please let us know.
To record the sacramental information in our parish records, please complete the Baptism Form (located at the bottom of the registration form). If your child was baptized at Holy Cross (either at St. Michael or Blessed Sacrament), we have the details of his or her baptism in the official records. If your child was baptized in another parish, please contact that parish and have them forward a copy of the baptismal record to the parish office as soon as possible. E-mail is fine; the mailing address is 3012 Jackson Street, Sioux City, IA 51104.
IMPORTANT: If you are not registered members of Holy Cross Parish, you will need to obtain permission from your Pastor at your parish.
We look forward to being a part of this exciting time in your child’s life. As always, if you have any questions, please call the Holy Cross Office at 712-277-2949 ext. 100.
Blessings to you and your family!
